The State of Ohio is committed to an open and transparent process when setting up the regulatory framework for medical marijuana. This section provides a timeline on program implementation and information on opportunities to provide input on rule development.

Administrative rules for the operation of the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program are under development and will follow the process outlined in Chapter 119 of the Ohio Revised Code, including review by the Common Sense Initiative and the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review as well as opportunities for public comment. In the case of the State Medical Board of Ohio and the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy, rules must also receive input and approval from their respective appointed boards.
