FORM AND METHOD PETITION

Any person may petition the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy to add an approved: (1) form of medical marijuana; or (2) method of administering medical marijuana. Persons seeking to add a form or method of administration must submit an electronic petition in accordance with section 3796.061 of the Revised Code and 3796:8-2-02 of the Administrative Code to the Board.

PETITION TO ADD A NEW QUALIFYING CONDITION

Each year, the State Medical Board of Ohio is tasked with reviewing petitions for new qualifying medical conditions for the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program. The next submission period will be open from November 1 until December 31. You may submit a petition at any time during this window. Click here to submit a petition.

As a reminder, the following are the current qualifying medical conditions for medical marijuana use in Ohio: AIDS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, cachexia, cancer, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, Crohn’s disease, epilepsy or another seizure disorder, fibromyalgia, glaucoma, hepatitis C, Huntington’s disease, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, multiple sclerosis, pain that is either chronic and severe or intractable, Parkinson’s disease, positive status for HIV, post-traumatic stress disorder, sickle cell anemia, Spasticity, spinal cord disease or injury, terminal illness, Tourette syndrome, traumatic brain injury, and ulcerative colitis.
